It is done on waters that contain suitable species to be caught in fresh, brackish and salt water. The equipment used to fish varies considerably depending on the method of angling employed. Fishing can be done from boats, bridges, piers and from the shore and is a world-wide sport as well as an important way of providing subsistence food for human consumption.
