Snowmobiles are mechanically powered off-road vehicles that travel on a rotating “track” driven by a gasoline propelled motor with skis operated by handlebars in the front to allow steering. They are used in a wide variety of wintertime situations including, hunting, fishing, camping and other recreational pursuits. They can accommodate one or more riders and in some cases are capable of speeds in excess of 100mph. They are used both recreationally and competitively around the world.
